A.N.Z.A.C. Day recognition

by Jo Morris

Today we held a small commemoration to remember those that have served us with a minutes silence. We have a Roll of Honour Board that is over 100 years old and bears the names of past-pupils from the Papanui District School (our original school name). It is the centre piece of our commemoration and school taonga. Some of our ākonga who are involved with Scouts, Guides, and St Johns wore their uniforms as a sign of respect and some children also proudly wore the medals of their family members. Some of our classes also talked about this special day and made poppies.

Dance @ PPS - Whānau performance

by Jo Morris

We are lucky to have Mark from Dance Curriculum back visiting us again this term. He does a fabulous job of creating a choreography and structure in a way that is simple and effective for everyone. This provides a wonderful learning experience for the children and gets every student engaged in their dance lessons. Next Friday, 5th May at 10.45am we will share our dance performances with our whānau and school community out on the courts. We hope you can pop in to share this great experience with us.
