What's coming up at Rāroa . . .

Congratulations to the following students who represented Rāroa at the Chess Power Nationals Tournament held in Rotorua at Labour Weekend: James O'Doherty, Levi Alexander, Liam O'Connor, Jacob Allison and Niko Fea Hurst.

Congratulations to Ellie Palmer and Claude Boud! Both of these Year 8 students have had submissions accepted for the next publication of the Toitoi Magazine.

This year, 100 Year 7 & 8 students incorporated the Otago Maths Problem-Solving Challenges into their learning experiences, in order to further develop their problem-solving skills.

Tūhono, Wellington City Libraries’ poetry journal for children and teens, is now open for submissions for the next issue!

On Tuesday, some of Rāroa’s finest athletes went out to Hutt Intermediate to take them on in our annual sports exchange. It was awesome to see our students give 100% regardless of the outcome and to see some excellent sportsmanship happening in all games.

Electives week will run in Week 8 of Term 4 (5 - 9 December) this year. This is a great opportunity for your child to try out new experiences, learn some different skills and have some fun. Please discuss the options available with your child before they choose.

If you haven't secured your table to Craft Beer & Quiz Night on Thursday 17th November, the time to do it is now! Gather a crew, secure your table of 8 and be part of the action.

On Tuesday 25th October, Rāroa sent a team to the WRISSA Baseball tournament at Fraser Park. It was a fantastic day and the students had a lot of fun.

Last term, some of our students chose to take part in the annual Kiwi English, Mathematics and Science competitions run by New Zealand Centre for Assessment and Monitoring.
