From the Principal - 22 June 2023
We have several end-of-term highlights to bring to your attention...
Matariki Evening
We look forward to being together to acknowledge Matariki. We have more information about the night below. If you have not completed the sign up form, please do. We need to know how many are attending for catering purposes.
Senior School Science Fair Entries
Congratulations to all Senior School students for all the work and effort that has gone into their entries and the staff for their super-human patience and efforts! These will be judged in the hall on Monday and available to view on Tuesday and Wednesday. Do spend some time looking at these, as they are amazing.
FoSS Quiz Night
Thank you to the organising committee and everyone attending tonight's event.
Key information regarding Seussical JR
Thank you to the families that have completed the key requirements form for Seussical. If you have not, you can access this here.
Every three or four years, we run a whole school production. The last one was Lion King, performed in 2017. You can review some of the show, here (the password is Seatoun).
In the other years, we rotate through drama, music, visual and dance experiences.
Our production is the main focus for Term Three. Alongside and often within this theme, teaching and learning continue. Running a school-wide production, with a school of our size, is a massive undertaking, and we greatly appreciate all our community's support and contributions.
The Director of production is staff member Ben Haddock. Ben has the entire staff, plus many key parents, behind him. We employ Jo Rogers in a part-time capacity as our Producer. Jo has extensive knowledge and experience in theatre and film and has worked with us as Producer for Lion King and the Senior School review.
We also have Gemma Hoskins and Shannon Atkin to help with the musical direction. They have been volunteering their time every Monday to come and work with our leads and will continue to assist us in Term 3.
Closer to the time we will be selling tickets for performances.
Performance week - Monday 18th - Thursday 21 September
The structure for the performance week is:
Cast One
Monday, 18th Sept 1pm dress rehearsal, 6pm performance
Tuesday, 19th Sept 1pm matinee and 6pm performance
Cast Two
Wednesday, 20th Sept 1pm dress rehearsal and 6pm performance
Thursday, 21st Sept, 1pm matinee and 6pm performance
We will confirm which cast each child is in at the beginning of next Term. Families will be in the same cast.
There will be no weekend rehearsals.
LOST PROPERTY
We have a huge amount of lost property. Please come and have a look! We have no choice but to donate lost property to charity as we can not store the quantity we collect.
