Kia ora e te whānau

The school regularly provides updates and reports for the Board to review. For this meeting Wendy Bamber presented the Library Curriculum report. We are fortunate to have her high energy in the role and this is reflected in the level of engagement from our learners in the school.

A sample of the work discussed was the initiative to work closer with the kindergarten to further foster reading enjoyment prior to starting school. The library has also been involved with providing lessons to help identify misinformation, considering issues such as identifying sources and plagiarism. All highly topical areas in this age of AI.

Teacher and student feedback on the Y7/Y8 classroom modernisation upstairs has been overwhelmingly positive. The school is now considering what future upgrades will look like for the remaining classrooms (when Ministry funding allows as this does not come from school donations).

Parents are welcome to come in and see the great new facilities we have.
