The events of the last two years have put leaders from all industries under the spotlight, providing plenty of examples of both poor and best practice for the world to analyse.

Academic scholarships allow students who might not otherwise be able to afford tuition to benefit from the outstanding education St Margaret’s College provides.

Congratulations to our two SMC teams who competed in the Annual Ara Year 11 Chemistry Competition on Thursday 30 September 2021. The evening competition had each team working through qualitative analysis experiments and a written section.

We celebrated the arts in spectacular style at the end of the term with the Senior Arts Awards. The girls we recognised are creative, brave, and passionate, but more than that they are resilient, hard-working, dedicated, committed and supportive. They have exceptional skills and talents and they also give back to the school and their community and are role models for us all.

Term 4 sees the start of our Summer sporting codes. Our aim is to have as little disruption as possible this term for our weekly games, as cricket, korfball, rowing, touch, water polo and volleyball get underway. Good luck to all our teams, have fun and be the best you can be. Go SMC.

This week's featured businesses are Crombie Lockwood, Caxton Press, Craigs Investment Partners, Christchurch Transitional Cathedral and Ben & Jerry's Ice Cream. These are all local businesses that support St Margaret's College and we'd love you to support them back as much as possible, thank you.

Under the current Government Covid guidelines, SMC has made the tough decision to cancel the evening performances of Annie Jr.

It's hard to believe Christmas is just 58 days away and that means it's time for our annual Christmas cake sale, in support of St Margaret's College.

St Margaret’s College Rowing is currently raising funds to replace its ageing erg fleet, which is a vital training tool for the girls. Any additional funds raised will go to further upgrading its SMC Rowing facilities at Kaiapoi.

Due to the pandemic, the world we now live in is a very different place. The hyperconnected nature of our current environment means that we are constantly being reminded of the challenges we face via numerous media and social media channels.
