The Cross walk

Kath Joblin - April 13, 2022

This morning members of the discipleship classes (Year 11,12 and 13) from Aquinas College began the cross walk from our school.

Our school came out to tautoko our friends, siblings and ex-STM students as they began their walk from our school to Aquinas College carrying the cross and stopping from time to time to pray the Stations.

From our school the students, teachers and Fr Matt will walk across the Matapihi bridge into town then along Devonport Road, through Memorial park to 13th Avenue where they will have lunch with St.Mary's school. From 13th Avenue they will walk along Fraser Road to Cameron Road to Aquinas College.

The cross walk happens every year. It is a powerful witness that we are a Christian school community (STM, St.Mary's and Aquinas) and a reminder to people in the wider community that the real meaning of Easter is Jesus Christ. It was great to see so many pupils from our school, so grown up and enthusiastic to be part of this special event.
