The 2023 Tawa College Sports Prizegiving was held on Thursday 26 October in the college hall.

On Thursday 2 November 2023 the annual Cultural Prizegiving ceremony was held celebrating the success of our students in many aspects of the cultural life of the college.

The Visual Art Department held our annual ArtSplash exhibition in Week 4.

Jabeen, Arnee, Ariana and Raima spent a couple of hours at Optimal Workshop learning about User Experience, Information Architecture and Software as a Service. They created their own categorising tool and won a paper plane design competition.

Success for Tawa College Year 12 student Maiarangi Waipara

Year 10 student Xavier Farland, Ngāti Porou, has been selected to represent Wellington Samoa in the Junior Oceania Tag Cup Tournament at Bruce Pulman Park, Auckland, in 2024.

Congratulations to Year 11 student Ngaru Reedy whose U16 Central Mako Baseball team recently won the Nelson Heat Baseball Invitational tournament for 2023.

Congratulations to Joanne Wawatai and Greta Abbott who have both been named as members of the Wellington Senior Women's Māori Cricket Team. We wish them every success for their upcoming games this season.

Year 13 Computer Science Music Databases

There have been a number of students from Tawa College whose writing has been selected to be published in the 2024 edition of Re-Draft. From over 500 entrants, well done to Amy Cordwell and Ruth Chen. We look forward to seeing your writing in print next year.

Tawa College has been recognised as one of Aotearoa New Zealand's "top-performing" secondary schools in 2023. A World Vision NZ representative will attend an assembly later this term to present Tawa College with a certificate to thank our students and staff for their efforts.

The Term 4 policy reviews are now open for feedback. This term we are reviewing Curriculum and Student Achievement, Student Assessment and Achievement, Home Learning, Distance Learning, Religious Instruction and Health Education.
