Thursday 28th February. Relationships are really important to us, and our Hui-ā-whānau provide an early opportunity for parents/caregivers to speak with whānau teachers about their child's initial transition to school and answer any questions you might have.

Our assemblies are called Wā Ngākau, which literally means heart time, but in our context is about celebrating the things that make up the heart of our school.

It has been great to see our Te Aroha space being used over the last week and students have really enjoyed visiting to read books at break times.

We are delighted to be able to launch our new reporting system, LINC-ED! Staff and students will be posting rich content throughout the year to our LINC-ED site and we are excited to share this with you and involve you in your child’s learning journey.

We have sample sizes of the optional uniform available for trying on in the office. Please pop in & see Amanda or Melissa if you would like to do this.

Te Ao Mārama School has partnered with School Apps NZ to create our very own app.

To stop sickness from spreading, it is important for you to keep your child at home when they are ill, and not send them to school. We have noticed students are returning to school too soon and passing bugs on to other students and staff.

Our logo was designed by graphic designer Vicki Jordan and our Principal Tony Grey. The graphic logo has been carefully designed to symbolise many positive concepts.

All of New Zealand’s state and state-integrated schools have a board of trustees. The board of trustees is the Crown entity responsible for the governance and the control of the management of the school.

We are very excited to announce that our school will be the base for a new dance programme, with dance classes after school on Thursdays 3.30-5.30pm (starting this Thursday 21st Feb) and also on Saturdays 9.00-11.00am.

Lessons will be held on Tuesdays during school time for groups of 5-6 students. The 30 minute lessons cover a wide variety of styles and are designed to provide a well-rounded and solid start to the guitar. Plus, they’re heaps of fun!
