Whiria te tāngata - 28 February

From The Board

The start of the school year has seen a bustle of activity and we are well underway into another exciting school year.

We are incredibly proud of the mahi happening across the school and the vibrant learning environment that makes Te Ao Mārama such a special place.

Our first Board hui was held recently and it is always a significant one as we finalise the annual budget, review any updates to our strategic plan, and hear about student achievement data from the previous year. The 2024 data is particularly encouraging, with positive trends emerging across most learning cohorts and core subject areas. This gives the board confidence that investments in initiatives like Structured Literacy are making a real impact. A huge thank you to our incredible team for their dedication and contribution to our learners' progress at Te Ao Mārama! (Student Achievement Data).

As a Board, our focus remains on ensuring Te Ao Mārama continues to grow and thrive. We are committed to supporting our dedicated staff, strengthening our partnerships with whānau, and upholding our school’s values to create the best possible learning outcomes for our ākonga. We also acknowledge the incredible contributions of our community—our school is stronger because of the collective efforts of our whānau, volunteers, and supporters. Your involvement makes a real difference, and we encourage you to stay connected, participate, and share your whakaaro with us throughout the year.

Here’s to a fantastic 2025!

Ngā manaakitanga,

Heemi McDonald
