Message from the Board

Kia ora koutou katoa. With Term Four well under way we are very quickly heading to the end of the school year.

At our last hui we heard from Sandra Humphry as she reported back on students learning around te reo and tikanga Māori. Sandra shared positive feedback from Rongohia te Hau (cultural survey) and showed us where we sit with the Poutama Reo self review tool. She shared a number of questions to guide us as we move forward in this space and made some recommendations as we continue to look for ways to grow in this area while celebrating and strengthening our relationship with Ngaati Wairere. The School Board would like to thank Sandra, Buffy and Ruby for their continued mahi in this area.

We also discussed our EOTC (Education Outside the Classroom) policies and procedures and celebrated a successful Kāhu camp to Tūī Ridge. We acknowledge and thank the kaiako and parent helpers for the amount of mahi that goes into running this camp. What an amazing experience for our ākonga.

We looked at data that was shared around the impact that Structured Literacy and our ILAs (Inclusive Learning Assistants) is having on our ākonga. The results are incredible and show real progress.
