Bike to Sport - Saturday 15 June

Saturday 15 June, 8:30am-1.00pm - Discovery Park
by Melissa Langley

The Hamilton City Council are hosting the first Bike to Sport event to encourage more kids and their parents to bike to their local sports games.

The cycling education team will be at Discovery Park on Saturday 15th June between 8.30am and 1.00pm to give out free bike checks, and safety gear such as bells, high-vis vests, backpack covers and puncture repair kits.

Those who bike in will get a free hot drink - remember your keep cup! Plus, the team with the most bike riders at each event win passes to Ninja Valley.

Bike Waikato are providing additional bike racks at both locations for you to store your bike.

If you live too far away to bike from home, we've selected options nearby the sports fields where you can park your car and ride in safely.

Reach out to our cycling team with any questions at cycling@hcc.govt.nz.

Biking to a sports game is a great way to warm up, enjoy the outdoors with whānau, and skip the school sports traffic.

Did you know, it takes less than 10 minutes to bike 2km?
