Principal's update- Week 5 Term 3 2022.
Admin - August 23, 2022
Term 3 is continuing to be a great success with a lot for us to celebrate. We have the Christchurch City Council Cycle Safety team working with our senior classes and have our two weeks swimming lessons at Jellie Park to look forward to.
We recently entered into the Central Basketball tournaments held last Monday. Mr Kennedy coached the team and we were very proud of their teamwork and efforts in coming second. Congratulations to the students who have trained and worked hard together to achieve such great results: Max, Lucas, Mary, Winston, Wally, Jack, Monty, Ollie and Charlie
Education Review Office
Over the last 6 months our leadership team has been working with our Education Review Office (ERO) capacity partner Jacqueline Woods. Recently our School Profile has been published. You can find it here in this article.
There are two reports, the Board Assurance Report and our School Profile. We look forward to sharing with our community our on-going reports as we evaluate our practices to improve outcomes for all students.
At our last board meeting on 16 August board members were able to walk through our four new learning spaces to see the progress. We are starting to get excited as Homeroom 11-14 will be ready for us around mid to end September. When we move into these spaces the builders will be taking over Homeroom 9 / 10. These classes will be moving into Homeroom 7 / 8 until they are finished. We are currently in the process of purchasing furniture and look forward to mid September when we anticipate moving into the spaces.
Health consultation
So far we have had an outstanding response to our Health Consultation, thank you for providing us with this information. Once this closes we summarise the information and from the feedback we form a statement about the health programme and make changes to the programmes we offer.
Casual Friday - Daffodil Day Fundraiser.
We are finishing our week with a Casual Friday on 26th August. Student council suggest students wear something yellow if you have it - if not just wear what you choose! A gold coin donation is optional with all proceeds going to the Cancer Society. Friday will also be the last day for the sale of daffodils.
