My first six weeks – a short reflection

Cole Sutherland (Year 11) was selected to join YMCA as a participant for their Young Artist Development Programme.

A former student of Hagley College, Abed Ghandour left New Zealand on 23 January 2022 to take up a position on a fashion degree course in Milan, Italy.

One of the privileges offered to senior students at Te Puna Wai o Waipapa is the opportunity to become Peer Support leaders and help new Year 9 students become part of the Hagley Whānau.

Hagley recognises the importance of sound mental health as the foundation for success in many aspects of life. Accordingly, we take wellbeing seriously and offer services to the Hagley community to support them as best we can.

Brooke Walford is a second year student at Hagley Theatre Company. Over the summer she was put forward by Artistic Director, Cameron Mattox, to work with a West Coast company on their production of Antigone. Here is a bit of a Q&A with Brooke where she shares her experience of the play and also how her 2022 year has started back at HTC.

On Friday evening, 11th February, the Preschool community was saddened to find out that the century-plus old tree that had provided protection for generations at the College and the preschool decided to gracefully lay itself down.

We are really excited to be working towards achieving the New Zealand Dyslexia-Friendly Quality Mark (DFQM) as we recognise the importance of meeting the needs of learners with neurodiverse needs such as dyslexia.
