Friday 26 November is a Ministry of Education Accord Teacher Only Day. There will be no school on this day. The focus of this TOD will be to provide us with the opportunity to refresh and consolidate the changes to NCEA introduced in earlier days.

Kaylee Breingan has won a position at KPMG Tauranga. She will work at KPMG and study towards her Bachelor of Business Studies at the Tauranga Campus of Waikato University, while she also gains work experience.

We were fortunate to have three students gain berths on the Spirit of Adventure as it sailed from Tauranga over the holidays - Year 12 students Lucca Toomey BMST, Megan Roux BDWT and Poppy Wilson BGWT had “the trip of a lifetime".

Congratulations to our Young Enterprise Team B’Well who made it to the top 5 of the regional finals of the Young Innovator Awards and won the award for local community benefit.

Waw Uthaikan - Year 12

Thursday 30 September was our non-uniform day for Term 3! The theme was 'Pyjamas' in light of the national Mental Health Awareness Week in New Zealand and was a chance for students to come to school in their comfiest PJ's.

Over four weeks, six of Tauranga Girls’ College’s German language students participated in a virtual exchange with English language students from North Rhine Westphalia, Germany. Because of the current global pandemic, TGC’s annual exchange to Germany wasn’t possible, so instead students from both countries improvised and participated in an online exchange.

Level 1 Social Science students travelled to Rotorua to participate in regional tourism activities. They are learning about the Tourism industry in New Zealand and this trip was an opportunity to experience it first hand.

On the last day of Term 3, students held activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival in our kura.

CONGRATULATIONS to our four TGC filmmakers who have made The International Youth Silent Film Festival NZ - Top 15 films for 2021 !!!

How cool was our Spirit Week carnival! Thanks to Lil' Orbits, Rice Rice Baby, Mr Whippy Tauranga, Spices 2 Di 4 for joining us as well as the Pasifika and Leo Club for the hot chips, BBQ and delicious baked goodies.

The Police Pathways Program cohort graduated at the end of last term. What a great reason celebration! The program has been an excellent way for these students to get an insight into what it means to be a cop in New Zealand.
