The seasons are shifting as the shadows get longer, and we finish Term 1 with productive starts across the curriculum, and winter’s activities now beckoning the boys.

On Monday 10 April, Mr Miller and Mr Bennison took a group of twelve Year 10 students out to Richard Pearce Airport for a fly around Timaru. 

These take place in Term Two, Week Three Wednesday 17 May – Friday 19 May.

Whole school conferencing will take place on Friday 5 May.

Last Thursday 6 April, we held our first 2017 POWER tools day for our Year 12 students. POWER tools was introduced in 2016 in response to a need identified by staff and senior students for 'life skills' to be taught to our students. The name and content reflect the Timaru Boys' High School PB4L programme values, and key knowledge and skills for our students’ futures.s.  

Timaru Boys’ rowers exceeded all expectations at the recent Maadi Cup competition, bagging two bronze medals and securing a number of A finals and top ten finishes.

Held in Rotorua’s fantastic Whakarewarewa Forest, two of our fastest XC racers who have been training hard all year, headed off to ride the fast pumice tracks.

Last week TBHS had four boys attending this event in Wellington.

Chair of BoT Hostel Committee, Parent Elected Rep

A two day introductory programme about autism that enables family/whanau/caregivers/educators and health professionals to create a framework for understanding and support.

This opportunity is available to students and families of the TBHS community from Monday 8 May - Sunday 14 May.

There is a wide range of scholarships available for students continuing on with study in the workplace and at polytechnics and universities.

The school was delighted with the number of cards that were submitted for the first PB4L Silver draw of the year.  

A reminder that senior students in Years 12 & 13 (Year 11 may bring a moped or similar), must have completed a vehicle permission form before they bring a vehicle to school. 

Parents are asked to be courteous in vehicles when collecting students from school – please refrain from parking/stopping on yellow lines or in front of driveways.
