Meet Ophelia Asentista

I am originally from the Philippines and taught in Auckland for 6 years before deciding to settle here in Waimate. I’ve explored 4 Asian countries (Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, Philippines) teaching and coaching for 10 years; I found my ‘calling’ as a support person in New Zealand, especially supporting neuro-diverse students. 

What I love about Waimate High School so far is all of the learning and growth from different talents within the school community. 

This year I am really looking forward to our new school-wide diversity celebration. 

A fun fact about myself is that I love super extra spicy food!
