Spotlight on Learning - Mathematics

Our Mathematics teachers have been trialling a new tool to support students.

The Mathematics department is utilising mini-whiteboards to help get instant feedback from ākonga (students). The main advantage is that rather than asking one student in the class for the answer, we can now get all ākonga to provide an answer and check understanding. If a whiteboard is left blank this is not the end; it is just the start of a conversation to support teaching and learning. The whiteboards have helped increase engagement and allowed teachers to tailor the teaching and learning to individual ākonga's ability.
