It is hard to believe it is the end of another term! 

The Balmacewen Intermediate school speech finals were held last Friday. Congratulations to our winners Julia and Lily.

On Wednesday 27th September the Year 8 students presented their Term three ASPIRE project based learning inquiries to their parents and community.

On Tuesday the 26th September, we were lucky enough to host an Australian boys school, Newington College - NSW, in a sports exchange. 

The Fair Play Cup for Term 3 was presented last Friday to Matheson for consistently exhibiting fair play and good sportsmanship throughout his 2 years at Balmacewen Intermediate. Congratulations also to Sophie and Will who were runners up.

Balmacewen entered a team in the inaugural league competition held on a Tuesday after school.

Last week as part of our Term Three IMPACT topic looking at sustainable practices a team of community educators from Bunnings came to work with us. 

Group D has finished their time in the foods room for 2017.

Today the writing extension group visited Olveston House as part of our writing programme. 

The third group of Year 8's have completed their time in the Foods room. 

After much deliberating and planning the groups finally made their perfect pies!

All year 7 classes had a great time today practising for the upcoming school athletics sports.

Year 8 students have been working hard to complete designer cushions, drawstring bags and screen printed t-shirts. 

With the onset of Term 3 in the Fabrics room, it signalled the start of the 2017 Softie extravaganza! 

Balmacewen Kapa Haka and Pasifika Group took to the stage on Wednesday night in the 24th Otago Polyfest Festival.

All year 7 classes were lucky enough to have expert coaching last Friday at the Edgar Sports Centre.

This year Balmacewen Intermediate entered the Tournament of Minds competition. 

Yellow and Gold Netball teams represent Balmacewen Intermediate at Otago Primary Schools Netball Tournament.

Last week Room's 7 and 8 had a great day out exploring the Dunedin Street Art and having a fantastic session at the Art Gallery to tie in with our IMPACT topic. 

What a fantastic time all year 7 classes had last week visiting various sporting facilities around Dunedin.

The Ravensbourne Youth Yachting Trust welcomes children wanting to learn how to sail.
