Below is a list of students who have achieved outstanding results this year in the Australian, ICAS and Junior Mathematics competitions. Congratulations to all for achieving such excellent results.

The purpose of the Monitor Camp was to bond together the boys to become a highly functioning team and to be able to take on the challenges of the role in 2019.

Debbie Vitany is fighting a losing battle against Fortnite. Her 17-year-old son, Carson, has been logging 12 hours a day on the video game, searching for weapons and resources in a post-apocalyptic world where the goal is being the last person standing. Teachers complain he falls asleep in class and his grades have plummeted.

The 1st XI took on the best sides from around the county last week at Lincoln as they tried to make it a three-peat of National Titles and six in the last seven years.

On Sunday 25th Nov, the New Zealand Secondary Schools Polo team played against the USA School team at Waireka Polo Farm, Sefton.

2018 has been a successful, and unsuccessful, year for the Senior A team winning both traditional fixtures against prominent Auckland tennis schools Auckland Grammar and Westlake Boys’ High School. Unfortunately we lost on count back to a good Timaru Boys’ team in relation to qualifying for Nationals.

Across the weekend of the 30 November - 2nd of December the CBHS Athletics Team competed at the New Zealand Secondary School Athletics Championships in Dunedin. The team won two gold medals and two bronze medals and competed across almost all events.

The last of the Year 10 careers visits were conducted last month. 10 MLI spent a morning with Cavell Leitch speaking with law staff and gaining a glimpse of what it is like to be in this profession. 22 Cavell Leitch staff offered 40 minutes of their time to work with individual students.

The New Zealand Fish and Game South Island and New Zealand Secondary Schools Clay Target Competitions 2018 were held over the first weekend of the school holidays 29 Sept – 01 Oct.

Massey University is conducting a study looking at different types of asthma in teenagers aged 14-18yrs. The aim of the study is to improve our understanding of childhood asthma, which will lead to better asthma treatment options. If you have a 14-18 year old that has asthma, we would be grateful if you consider taking part.
