Congratulations to Lily Trotter, Akeira Worthington, and Beth Wray for being awarded Best Overall Team and Best Team Essay: Taxitions in this year's Treasury Schools Challenge. They have won scholarships to study at Victoria University.

On Tuesday 7th August, the English department began using our newly refurbished top floor of the main block.

The Christchurch Girls' High School Jazz Band performed superbly at the recent Jazz Quest last Sunday morning.

On the 7- 8 August talented students from CGHS and CBHS performed a fabulous showcase of various musical theatre numbers in our new Performing Arts Centre Theatre.

The Music Department presented a Music concert with something for everyone last Thursday evening. Groups ranged from choirs, orchestras, and jazz band to solos and chamber groups.

On Monday 6th August, the Christchurch Girls’ High School Multisport Team competed in the Canterbury Secondary Schools Duathlon held at the Ruapuna Raceway.

Holocaust Survivor, Vivienne Spiegel, spoke to 150 spellbound students on Tuesday, about her experiences as a Jewish child during World War Two.

Our Christchurch Girls’ High Squash A team traveled up to Palmerston North last week to participate in the 2018 NZ Secondary Schools Squash Nationals (NZSSS).
