Following her outstanding performance in our Senior Theatresports team, Tilly Walbom, Year 12, was selected to take part in the 'Scratch Team Workshop' alongside around 20 other keen senior Theatresports players from other secondary schools across the city.

This year’s novel for the Jessie Clark competition was Northanger Abbey by Jane Austen.

A reminder that school starts at 9.30am on Wednesday 23rd September. Staff will use this time for departmental meetings. We look forward to seeing students ready for a prompt start for period two.

This annual competition is run by the English department and requires students to answer an essay question with reference to Shakespearean texts.

From Monday, students are welcome to wear either full summer or full winter uniform.

On Thursday 10th of September two teams of Year 11 Geography students from Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora competed with 17 other teams from around Christchurch in the regional geography competition hosted by the University of Canterbury Geography Department.

Last weekend the CGHS fencing students had great success at the Mid-South Secondary Schools Fencing Championships. Our students competed in both the individual events and in the team events, producing some outstanding results.

Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora Equestrian club entered 3 teams in the Canterbury interschools Dressage competition held on Monday 7th September at McLeans Island.

The CGHS PTA Secondhand Uniform Shop opens once a month on a Saturday from 12-1.30 pm for both sales and receiving. EFTPOS is available.The shop will be open next on Saturday 19th September.
