People often say why a single sex girls’ school? Every type of school offers unique opportunities to its students and has strengths. In girls’ single sex education we focus specifically on the needs of girls and of our gender diverse students who choose to be in a single sex girls’ school.

Applications close 4pm July 29th 2022 for all out of zone Year 9 2023 applications. We would appreciate as many in zone Year 9 2023 applications by that date to assist with 2023 roll planning.

On Saturday 11th June 2022, the Canterbury/Waitaha heats for Smokefree RockQuest were held at the Ngaio Marsh Theatre.

We are observing Mental Health Awareness Week. The Library and Learning Enhancement areas are collaborating on activities and displays. Student librarians made wonderful posters around the library. We hope to work together to take care of our mental health and wellbeing.

On Tuesday the 14th June the annual Chamber Music Competition took place at ‘The Piano’. Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora was represented by the Prokofiev Sextet performing Prokofiev’s Overture on Hebrew Themes.

Our Learning Enhancement area is looking for Readers Writers to assist students on a one-to-one basis in examinations and assessments.
