On Monday, 27th February, Columba College held our annual Athletics Sports Day for Years 0-13. It was a fabulous day at the Caledonian track with plenty of events to take part in and novelty fun to enjoy.

Growing in popularity, Challenge Wanaka is a wonderful event for our secondary school aged athletes interested in triathlon and multisport adventures! Columba College has had teams participating in this amazing race for a number of years, and the breathtaking Central Otago landscape makes the event even more spectacular for all those involved.

Tuesday the 21st February was Mardi Gras or Shrove Tuesday this year. Although acknowledged by Christians around the world, Mardi Gras is celebrated especially in France and other Catholic countries. It marks the last day of the Carnival celebrations before the serious time of Lent that leads up to Easter.

On the 12th of February 2023, 11 university and high school students from across New Zealand along with 5 teachers were selected by Blake NZ Foundation to go on an expedition of a lifetime with Jacob Anderson (Expedition Director) and Alice Ward-Allen (Head of Discovery) to the Sub-Antarctic Campbell Island.
