We welcome Ella and Jimmie into Room 9 and wish them happy times at East Taieri.

Congratulations to the new Student Council members who were elected by their classmates to represent them for Terms 1 and 2 this year. I am looking forward to working with this great group of students over the next two terms.

$500 was raised for Heart Kids Otago. Thank you to everyone for supporting this very worthwhile cause.

This week is Walk n Wheel to School Week. This is an annual event used to ‘kick start’ Active Transport for the school year.

As you will have noted in the school calendar of events for this term, we have a Teacher Only Day on Thursday 9 April which means that the last day of term for children will be Wednesday 8 April. All teaching staff will be involved in a professional development day on the Thursday, working with Maths Facilitators from Massey University.

We have been invited to participate in the 2020 Trillian Trek Kids Charity. The Trek will be visiting East Taieri School on the morning of 16th March. Information below from the Trek Director.

We are very fortunate to be able to have Chat Bus for two days per week this year with Carla Hore as our counsellor. Thanks to the Home & School committee who have contributed to funding the second day for 2020.

At East Taieri School we implement the Play Is The Way (PITW) programme. This programme helps students develop the life and learning skills necessary to lead meaningful and fulfilling lives. They are also the skills we all use to handle ourselves, our relationships and our work effectively and ethically.
