At the start of Term 2 we welcomed our new Principal Iain Murray, our new Staff members and new Students.

On the last day of Term 1 we farewelled our Principal, Mr Sutton. It was a fitting send off to celebrate the last 7 years of dedication for our wonderful tumuaki

Hornby High Schools Junior Leaders for 2023 are finding their feet in their new positions within the Kura. Every year, twelve students from Year 7-10 are selected to be a part of this group. Students apply for the positions and discussions are had with teachers and deans to ensure we are choosing the right people for the job.

Congratulations to 5 of our students for achieving their bronze Duke of Edinburgh Awards. James L, Jodecy P, Sidney M, Axle BS, and EJ C and were all awarded their Bronze level by The Honourable Phil Mauger, Mayor of Christchurch.

Our Year 12s got to experience the Christchurch Careers Expo this year on the 11th May.

This year we have an adventurous group of senior students who are taking up debating.

My name is Ella Nichole and I am in Year 12. I was given the opportunity to go on a ten day sailing trip on the Spirit of New Zealand.
