On Wednesday 24 February we enjoyed a stunning Athletics day with something for everyone in perfect sunny weather.

We started 2016 with a Mihi Whakatau (welcome) in the school gymnasium, welcoming all new students and staff to Logan Park High School.

Grant McNaughton was selected to attend an International Science Forum in the United Kingdom at the end of July.

Our Head Prefects will be supported by a capable team of House and School Prefects representing the diverse interests of the school community.   

Our Year 9 students enjoyed the annual Itinerant Music Concert in February. 

For the last 3 years we have run a welcoming hui to new students.

Our new library is open! Lots of natural light from the glass wall to the courtyard make the library a bright and comfortable place to be. 

The Defence Forces Careers Bus came to visit LPHS on Thursday, 3rd March. A number of our classes went to visit throughout the day and the bus was open during Interval and Lunch time for all other students. Its purpose was to highlight the significant number and variety of careers and training available through the New Zealand Army, Royal New Zealand Navy and the Royal New Zealand Air Force.

Every Friday lunchtime the Chess Club mets in Room 51. There were about 20 regular players who turned up very week and challenged somebody on our ranking Ladder or just played their friends. New players were always very welcome. 

Our enthusiastic PTSA has organised an Easter Raffle with great chocolate prizes to fundraise to support student activities. 

February Sports activities include Athletics Day, the announcement of Sports Prefects, increased participation rates across the school with some individual teams impressing in their competitions.

On a beautiful late summer evening in March a group of Logan Park students tackled the Pinnacles at Long Beach.

We enjoyed meeting parents and whanau at our new students' afternoon tea on Wednesday 2 March.

Dunedin turned on a stunning day on February 1st to welcome our new international students for 2016. 

We celebrated our impressive NZQA Scholarship winners along with NCEA Excellence endorsed students on Friday 19 February in our new Library.

Friday 12 February saw each House spend a wonderful day at a beach around Dunedin.

Emma Langley has had her Level Three Photography portfolio selected to tour New Zealand as part of the NCEA Top Art exhibition. 

Strangs, Strings and Company won the youth section of the Robbie Rocks Dunedin competition at the end of January.

Our new "Creative Suite" is being completed for the Music department, and is the centrepiece of extensive building and renovations which occurred over the summer break.

Year 13 students were involved in supporting junior students and new students in the first weeks of Term 1.
