Principal’s Message

Welcome back to everyone after the recent school holidays. I hope you all had a great break from the usual weekday routines and had some time to relax with your children. I was able to get away and spend some time in Japan, such an amazing place to visit, with such respectful and polite people.

International Baccalaureate, Primary Years Programme (IB PYP)

As you will know, Milford School is a candidate school for the IBPYP. We have been learning about this framework which sits well with our New Zealand Curriculum, and we would like to give parents information as well.

Super Teacher

One of our teachers, Nicole Brown, who is passionate about science and technology, has been nominated in the Genesis School-gen Super Teacher competition and is now in the running to win one of two trips to the 2020 Space Exploration Educators Conference in Houston, Texas early next year.

Garden to Table Report 🥔🍞

Our first week back to Garden To Table after the school holidays has been a huge success!! The garden is flourishing and we have been able to harvest huge quantities of vegetables to use in the kitchen. See the pictures below to see for yourself.

Congratulations to our amazing Chess Team!

ICAS RESULTS 2019 - International Competitions and Assessments for Schools

This year was the first year UNSW Assessments went completely digital. All competitions were sat on line. This posed some issues throughout the competition with access to tests, and many technical issues etc. Children now have to have a sound knowledge computer literacy and skills as well as curriculum knowledge in order to complete each of the competitions.

KIDS for KIDS Choir

NETBALL

Now the season is complete, could all netball uniforms, balls, player of the day trophies , bibs, drink carriers and practise nets and balls please be sent to school asap. Many thanks to all of those teams who have already sent them in. It is vital we get all equipment back asap so that we can start to look at what is needed into 2020. There are a large number of uniforms still needing to be returned. Many thanks.

Summer Pool Keys

Milford School Pool keys are now available from the school office for the summer 2019/2020 season. (14 October 2019 to 28 April 2020. The cost of the key is $180.00 which includes the $30.00 bond (refundable when the key is returned).

Did you know that Milford School is a collection point for all oral hygiene products?

We collect them in Room 19, and Mrs von Collas sends them to Australia, where they get recycled and turned into other products. You can help us win a Community Garden simply by bringing your used oral hygiene products to Room 19 and also by voting for Milford School in the Community Garden Challenge. Tell your families, tell your neighbours. Spread the word!
