Last Wednesday, Rooms 1 and 2 traveled to 3 different schools (Thorrington, Cashmere and Lyttleton) to explore their school halls on “The Great Kiwi Hall Trip”.

The topic for Mandarin class is "animal" recently. And we are learning a Chinese song called "两只老虎（Liǎngzhī lǎohǔ)" this week， it's a children song about "two tigers". Here is Room 4 doing it.

On a warm, windy Wednesday this week a group of Yr5-8 students competed in the annual Huxster mountain bike relay at Macleans Island. The year 5/6 students rode in teams of two non-stop for 1.5hrs and the yr7/8 students rode for 3hrs non-stop, also in teams of two. It was a fun day and all students competed with enthusiasm and commitment.

There were multiple weeks of preparation by the Aupaki Student Council and many, many wristbands ordered. The Top Team event finally fell onto March 27-28 at the Van Asch school grounds, two sessions per day to stretch out over 600 children.

Our first inquiry was We are responsible for our safety. Our key concept was Responsibility and we spent a lot of time focusing on this concept - recognising what Responsibility looks like, sounds like and feels like. To reinforce the concept, every student had to “adopt” an egg for a week, and take responsibility for keeping it safe.

During Term 1 Team Take Off has organised fortnightly sausage sizzles to raise funds to reduce gymnastics and swimming costs....$2 per sausage & lunch is sorted!! 🌭🌭
