Lifeguard Award Training Underway!

Our new batch of lifeguards has been putting in a lot of effort and time to prepare for their upcoming lifeguard award.

New Brighton currently has around 15 future lifeguards working towards sitting their Surf Lifeguard Award on the 12th of November.

The Surf Lifeguard Award certifies that the holder has the basic skills and knowledge to be a Surf Lifeguard. This is the entry-level qualification for members to be a patrolling member. The Surf Lifeguard Award is the first step on the Surf Life Saving New Zealand lifeguard pathway.

Isaac Davies, Lachlan Hill, Sean Newbitt, Kirsty Cullen and Kathryn Parsons have been working collaboratively to help prepare our new lifeguards for their exam.

There will be additional opportunities for new members to gain their Surf Lifeguard Award during the season. An exam is held every month during the summer season.
