Starting the Year

In mid January, parents receive an email confirming their child's class placement and inviting them to book an interview with their class teacher through Skool Loop for our Getting Connected Days.

School begins with Getting Connected Days - new students on the first day and returning students on the second day. This is an opportunity to meet with your child’s teacher, get devices connected and check other important enrolment details.

Our next school day begins with our pōwhiri to welcome our new students. Our returning year 8s arrive at 8.30am to practice in the hall after taking their bags their classroom, and our year 7s and any new year 8s gather in the carpark at 10.15am to await their welcome to our kura. Parents and whānau are welcome to attend the pōwhiri.

After the pōwhiri, our school year begins, with students in their classes.

Students do not need their devices or PE gear on the first day but must be in correct school uniform. Students should come to school with their stationery on the first day. All uniform items should be named. Students will need their devices and their PE Gear from day two of school.
