PLEASE NOTE: The change of venue this year. Prize giving will be held at The Edgar Centre on Tuesday 12 December starting at 6pm and all students are expected to attend. 

The beautiful weather of the last few weeks has been a real boon and has lifted the spirits of us all here at school as we reach the end of another extremely busy year. 

The portal will be closed over the summer to prepare the timetables for next year. 

On Monday 9 December there is a final assembly for Year 9 and 10 students.

Go Bus wishes to advise that as from the end of Term 4, 2017, it will be discontinuing a number of school bus routes in Dunedin.

This year has been a momentous one for OGHS Enviroschools, mostly because of the intensive reflection we undertook in May upon how we ‘live’ the Enviroschools principles at our school (Empowered Students, Learning for Sustainability, Sustainable Communities, Respect for the Diversity of Peoples and Cultures, and Māori Perspectives). 

We have had a fun and successful year with Waterpolo.

The BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) implementation for 2018 will require all students to bring a computer to school. 

Our incoming Year 9students for next year have their stationery requirement letters already. 

The Athletics team travelled to Hastings to compete in the National Secondary Schools' Athletics Championships.

Recently three OGHS junior volleyball teams attended the South Island Secondary Schools' Volleyball tournament in Christchurch.

Tennis Otago will be running a Holiday Programme for tennis players or aspiring tennis players aged 6 to 15 during three weeks of the upcoming Christmas school holidays.

On Tuesday 21 November 10MRT and a few other science students went on a trip to Quarantine Island with Mrs Beaman, Dr Philips and Mrs Millar. 

Sarah Johnson (Year 13) surprised the Year 10 French class on their final day of class for the year with a picnic. 

It has been a successful year for sport at OGHS for 2017 and I would like to thank all staff, parents and volunteers who have helped us throughout the year, without your support we would not be able to achieve the great results that we have.

On my third longer than a month trip to China, this time to visit and be a guest exchange English teacher at my school’s sister school in Shanghai, I knew I’d have to buy another bicycle.

These are now available for all sports teams or individuals, great for netball, basketball, badminton teams etc, $12.00 per pair. Also available are OGHS socks for Rugby, Rugby 7’s, Hockey and football. These are $15.00 per pair.
