Jayden and I have both been involved with Kapa Haka ever since we came to the Intermediate.  It's a part of our culture, whanau and people.  This has involved a lot of dedication and love for the group both from those performing and all those teachers who have tutored us along the way.  As we practice and perform over the years, this will remain a special memory for Jayden and I.  As we entered the stage nervously, all eyes were on us.  Jayden entered clutching the Taiaha while the rest of us sang 'Ma Te Atua'.

From there we went straight into our haka 'Whakairohia te reo'.

Jayden was really proud of his Taiaha performance.  It was amazing. He also realises it was a great privilege to hold the Taiaha.  For all of us Whakairo te reo was a fast, upbeat, strong haka.

Although we didn't have much time to focus on our audience, we knew they loved our performance.

In future years as we split up into different secondary schools we will both continue Kapa Haka.  Finally, a huge thanks to Matua Takiri who made everything possible.  Matua Takiri has been the best of the best and our whole group really appreciates him.  We can't thank him enough.
