What a great day, a full field, great weather and great comaradie.

Mr. Alan Cull (PNBHS 1937 – 1939) and Mr. Jim Kelly (PNBHS 1938 – 1942) who attended our Anzac Service and laid a wreath on the Gallipoli Oak on behalf of the Old Boys of Palmerston North Boys’ High School.

Friday night drinks, Saturday morning tea at Kings College, it was great to see our Old Boy's. Thanks for coming along and catching up.

Alec Astle and Stuart Leighton are currently working on a research project examining cricket in the school prior to 1945.

Jim Kelly (1938-42) Our school community is saddened to learn of the passing of Mr. Jim Kelly. Mr. Kelly attended PNBHS from 1938 – 1942 and in recent years has been a regular attendee at our annual Anzac service where he has placed a wreath on the Gallipoli Oak on behalf of our Old Boys. After these services, Mr. Kelly was always keen to engage with our young men and to find out about what was happening at school. His presence and contribution will be missed. Our thoughts are with Mr. Kelly’s family at this time. Jim reconnected with the school in 2007 when driving past a rugby ground in Papakura, he stopped when he saw the jerseys of his old school.He introduced himself to a supporter which started a relationship with the Colts rugby team. Jim and his wife, Pat even travelled around the country to watch them, on the Wednesday night of Colts tournament a BBQ was traditionally held, each year Jim bought ice cream for the boys and red wine for the staff. Jim and Pat had retired to Papakura after a successful teaching career including being the Principal of a number of schools, he also dabbled in the kiwifruit industry for a time.

The tour that lasted nearly 60 days was a terrible time in the nation's history, with the country torn in two - pro-tour and anti-tour.

Earlier this term we held an assembly in recognition of World Refugee Day.

Stuart was unable to attend our Sports Hall of Fame ceremony in February but we had the opportunity to catch up with him in Palmerston North when his Scots College 1st XI played our PNBHS 1st XI at the Arena last week. It was a great opportunity to present him with his award.

who has been selected in the Black Sticks men’s team to compete in the Tokyo Olympic Games.

"Black Sticks hockey player Nick Wilson has returned to the national side for one last tilt at an Olympic medal.

It was a pleasure to welcome Old Boy and professional musician David Shanhun (1997 – 2001) to assembly earlier this term.
