National Library visit

Books Alive By Isaac and Isla from Room 2

Last week we went to the National Library to listen to some authors and illustrators.

Our first author was Simon Pollard who had written two books. He wrote one about spiders because he really likes them. We learned a lot about spiders, but I still don’t like them even though they are interesting. Like the white tail spider which is poisonous.

Stephanie Thatcher had written, ‘I’m an inky octopus’. In the book the octopus sang a song there was a jellyfish that he played tag with then hid behind the rock and got stuck then he was saved by his family, it was amazing.

My favourite part was when we got to read a book called The Grisled Griss Does Not Exist. It was really cool and fun. It was the first time the author had read this book aloud and is not even in the shops yet.

At one point we saw the Treaty of Waitangi. It was a great day!
