Swimming Sports 2022

Kia ora Kirikiri Tātangi whānau

Please send students already in their togs. Please do not be late as buses leave at 8.50am.

When: Tuesday 2nd August

Time: 9.00am - 12.30am

Where: Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (Kilbirnie Pool).

Who: Year 3 - 8

Buses will take the students to the pool and back.  

Remember to bring:

  • Togs

  • Towel

  • Goggles

  • Spare towel/extra hoodie to keep warm in between races

  • Healthy lunch

  • Drink bottle

  • Swimming cap (if you have one)

  • NO money - as children will not be permitted to go to the cafe.

  • NO technology

All parents/caregivers are welcome to come to encourage and support this School event. There is seating in the stands under the clock side available which makes for easy viewing of the races. Please be sure to wear a mask, thank you.

The event programme is as follows, commences from 9:30am with a briefing (at 9.15am), running as efficiently as possible. These are in event order only, as it can be too hard to give a specific time.

  • 50m Freestyle

  • 25m Freestyle

  • 25m Backstroke

  • 25m Breaststroke

  • 25m Butterfly

  • House Relay if time allows

Please, if you take your child home by car, sign them out with Jayshri Dayal in the big stands.

Eastern Zone Swimming Sports:

The top 2 children per gender/year group from each event will qualify for Eastern Zone Swimming Sports. The top 4 children per gender/year group in the 25m freestyle will make up the relay team. This event will take place at Wellington Regional Aquatic Centre (Kilbirnie Pool) on Wednesday 7th September.
