2021 JoMail #1 - 4 February

It all starts now!

2020 was a year that will never be forgotten. Let's make an effort to make 2021 the year to remember!

As I write this, our first ever beginning of year "Whanau Hui" are underway. This is our chance to make sure we know your child and to forge a strong relationship for communication throughout the year.

We are blessed at St Joseph's to have fantastic staff, great parents and diligent students. When we work together we have the best chance to help your children to reach their "full potential in faith, learning and virtue".

You will need to get used to hearing this vision statement over and over in 2021! What does it mean?

We want our students to reach their full potential in:

1. FAITH

Students will develop a greater sense of prayerfulness and connection to God with an increase of peace and joy in their daily lives. This will be made possible by a dynamic retreat schedule for students, delving deeper into devotional prayers and celebrating the universal year of St Joseph.

2. LEARNING

We are blessed to already have great academic results. Our next step is to ensure students know what they must do to progress their learning and are motivated and engaged in the learning process. This will see further development of our integrated learning structures and the leveraging of digital tools maximise learner engagement and efficiency.

3. VIRTUE

We want to make sure that our tamariki are motivated and empowered leaders who can be relied upon at all times to act with charity and aroha. We will achieve this by improved communication with whanau, the launch of the Bishop Barry Jones Service Award, tweaking of our virtues recognition systems and a renewed focus on our partnership with St Peter Chanel School in Apia, Samoa.

This will require a strong partnership with whanau! We look forward to working with you in 2021.

God Bless
