Year 7 Marae Week

The 2019 School year is coming to end and it is appropriate that we reflect on another very successful and rewarding year at Tahuna. The students have been outstanding in the way they have embraced and modelled our school values of Respect, Responsibility, Creativity and Success throughout the year.

Our two teams had their last game on Monday 9th of December.

Another fantastic season for Tahuna Volleyball. Nearly 100 participants enjoyed the the season.

After the successes of the 2018 and 2019 trips we are again looking to create the opportunity for amazing students to travel to China in 2020.

Well done to all Touch players on a successful 2019 season.

In June 2019 I competed in Wellington for a chance to be selected to represent New Zealand at the World Aerobics in Holland. I didn't believe it when my name was called out. I stood there with a funny look on my face in disbelief.

A visit to the Genetics Department at the University of Otago proved to be more eventful than we first thought!

Marae week 2019

In Week 4 the following students were recognised for their initiative in voluntary fundraising for their special causes.

Two kiwi authors/illustrators by the name of James Russell and Donovan Bixley came and talked to students at Tahuna about their past and their books. They told us about one series of their own books. Both of them had interesting book series. I liked “The Dragon Defenders” series that James told us about.

On October 15th 18 students 2 teachers and 1 awesome parent headed to China for a 2 week educational tour. To promote cultural understanding and get to visit our sister schools in Zhengzhou and Nanjing.
