Well, there we go!!!! Term 1 DONE & DUSTED. It has been a great end to the Term with a wide range of our students being involved in a number of events, including Tough Kid Challenges, X-Country and trips to Rutherford House, and the CHCH Waka Experience.

The Ministry of Education is providing schools with an additional Teacher Only Day in 2023 to continue to work on the revised NZ Curriculum. The Board of Trustees would like to advise that Te Ahi Kaikōmako Rolleston School will be closed for instruction on THURSDAY 16th NOVEMBER.

Over the past week, Kahikatea finally got to go on their Waka on the Avon trip. The weather was chilly, but we were determined! We had a great time on the water learning about the waka and its traditions. We also learnt about local history. We walked around the city, looking at how our cultural history now has a footprint upon our town.

Our annual Tough Kid Challenge began last Friday when Mr Shalfoon was chatting to Ms Stuckey over a cup of camomile tea. He wasn’t sure how tough our Te Ahi Kaikōmako kids were.

Congratulations to our 5 amazing swimmers who recently attended the Canterbury Primary Schools Swimming Tournament.

Check out the amazing Scarecrows planned, designed and created by the amazing students in Studio 2 & 3. These scarecrows are now proudly displayed in our school garden.

Our kura is a colourful place to be as we celebrated 'Colour Your Day'. Thank you for your generosity raising money for E Tū Tāngata.

Last week we held a virtual kura assembly and we had five fantastic tamariki receive a Home Grown Hero Award!

This year we are going to be holding our Book Week in Term 2 Week 5 (22nd-26th May). The theme this year is “Bookaneer”.

The Rolleston School PTA is holding its Annual General Meeting on Monday 1st May 2021 at 7:30 pm in the school staffroom. The PTA meets approximately once a month on a Monday evening for 1 - 1 1⁄2 hours.

A six-session programme for parents/caregivers of children aged 5-12 years Tuning Into TEENS is an option for parents/caregivers of tamariki in school years 6-8 (10-13yrs)
