PALs WORKSHOP

On Monday, a group of 10 very enthusiastic Year 8 leaders attended the new revamped PALs workshop at the Aorangi Park in Timaru. 

The workshop is run by Sport Canterbury with facilitators from Christchurch coming down to support the South Canterbury team. Our students worked through a series of activities and theory lessons focused on these key areas:

• What makes a good PAL?
• Setting up PALs for success
• Using the STEP model (Space, Task, Equipment, People) to change games
• What to do if things don't go to plan

The students will now have the opportunity to lead several groups of other Year 7 and 8 students and provide various games and activities during lunchtimes, using the skills they have learned.
