Calling All High School Students - Otago-Southland Model United Nations (OSMUN) is back for 2024!

Featuring two days of public speaking, collaboration and problem solving, this is not an event to miss!
    by Cathy Shearer

Taking place on the 23rd and 24th of March at the Otago Business School, delegates will debate global issues from the perspective of their assigned country. The event is open to all students in Years 9 to 13. High schoolers from across the lower South Island are invited to attend to meet like minded youth, develop their diplomacy skills, and have fun!

The theme for OSMUN 2024 is 'UN+ Informed.’ With the rise of artificial intelligence and the increasingly diverse forms of information available, we must act fast to ensure that new technologies are used to improve our lives. Delegates will face issues from misinformation to AI and beyond, working together toward solutions.

In recognition of the barriers that can prevent attendance at these types of events, scholarships are available to waive the conference fee.

If you have any questions about OSMUN or the participant application process, please contact the Regional President, Khaleeda Jaafar, at khaleeda.jaafar@unyouth.org.nz
