1. What years were you at WHS and what roles did you have?

I was at Waimate High School from 2011 until 2017, I was a Peer Support leader in Year 13.

2. What have you done since leaving WHS?

Since finishing high school in 2017, I took a gap year in 2018, I travelled over to Switzerland where most of my family lives and spent 8 months travelling, doing small jobs to earn money and experience the Swiss culture, and improve my Swiss German!

In 2019 I moved to Christchurch to study at Ara. The first half of the year I studied a Certificate in Media Communications and then I moved onto a Certificate in Digital Design and Media.

From 2020 until 2022 I studied a Bachelor in Motion Design, which involves post production for videography, game design, animation and a little bit of photography. I was really into the post production side of the degree and loved working on projects and putting my own flare into them.

3. What are you doing now?

I have just started my new job at a publishing company in Christchurch called Magazines Today, I am a journalist and write for their 7-8 different magazines. We write about a variety of topics, including education, Christchurch business's, building and also a wedding magazine!

4. What are your best memories of WHS?

I really loved the different subjects that Waimate High School offered. I really enjoyed food technology, music and geography. I also loved the different opportunities that the school had to offer including, stage challenge, school productions and different school trips, which includes being part of the first group to head over to Japan for two weeks.
