Firstly, thank you for the support I have had from staff, tamariki, whānau and the whole school community, welcoming me to my new role as Acting Principal. I feel very privileged to be taking on this responsibility and am enjoying the challenge.

6 & 7 March

The nature loving Year 2's have been so thrilled to welcome three adorable caterpillars to our Hub!

Wednesday morning had some of the teachers at different meeting points around the streets of Wakari meeting keen walkers walking to school. What a great turn out!! One group had over 70 walkers!! Well done everyone who has walked to school this week! Ka mihi tamariki!

This term in Room 1 we have been working on our acting skills on Tuesday afternoons.

Next week we are hosting our Whānau Hui at Wakari school. This is an opportunity for our families to make connections with others in our school community and for our school to share what things are happening at school to support and promote Te Ao Māori, the Māori worldview.

What an exciting start to the the year we have had in the Year 2 Hub. It has been a full on action packed few weeks.

After a busy few weeks of creating our self portraits we have begun our Artist Study in Room's 1, 2 & 3.

Check out some of the effective artwork the children in Room 15 created to display up in the Mansion! We used the App- Picsart then designed our own colourful backgrounds to make them pop!

In Room 15 writing we have been writing all about our favourite parts of ourselves. Have a read of "The Best Part of Me..." and see if you can match our stories to our photos!

The Senior Hub are extremely lucky to have some OGHS students coming every Monday and Friday to work on sport skills.

A huge thank you for the amazing support given to our recent coin trail to support schools in the North Island.
