This time last week our Year 5/6 learners, staff and a group of awesome parents were away at Living Springs Camp.

Welcome to our new learners who started in West Rolleston Primary School - Kaylene, George, Nico, Zane and Sasha.

Keep those sponsors rolling in and make sure everyone is learning their Math facts. These have been planned as part of this terms curriculum. Prizes for the Junior and Senior who raise the most money, as well as heaps of spot prizes and the all important Fish and Chip lunch!

Congratulations to all the swimmers who went to the Selwyn Schools Zones Swimming Competition last week.

Come and check out the extra large coreboard we have outside of Te Pa Harakeke. This is an awesome tool for anyone to use to communicate with learners who are developing their communication.

This term, we have one policy, Recognition of Cultural Diversity due for review. Parents are invited to read this policy and provide feedback.

We have a lot of lost items currently in lost property. All non uniform items will be donated to goodwill if not claimed by the end of this term. We have large amounts of school uniform sitting here with and without names. Please come in and check if its your childs. We try to return all the uniform that is named twice weekly. Have a look at the photos below to see if you can spot something of yours.

We have some new reading books that need to be strengthened with tape before they can be used in studios.

On Tuesday 31st March (postponement Wednesday 1st April) we will be having our whole school fun cross country runs held on our back field. This is a popular, fun race whereby runners compete in teams around an obstacle track for a set time and collectively accumulate points for their team.

Receipts are now available, you can use the Hero app if you have an android phone, if you have an iphone you will need to log into Hero using the browser on your iphone (go.linc-ed.com) this will allow you to print your receipt or email accounts@westrolleston.school.nz to request one.

If you have any old magazines based on trucks, cars, trains or other similar magazines that you are happy to donate to school please drop to the school office. Thank you.

In the coming terms we have opportunity for competitive club gymnasts to enter into the Canterbury Primary Schools Gymnastics Competitions. Please email rebecclambert@westrolleston.school.nz if you would like more information about entering.

If you would like to coach a sport at school please see Bec Lambert or Fraser Malins. We would love your help! A notice has come home with Year 5-8 students in regards to coaching or managing our Year 5-8 Winter Sports and Zones opportunities so please look out for that.

We have had cases of headlice in our school community. Please check and treat your children. If you need head lice treatment, some can be provided by the school via GROW.
