We are now over halfway through Term 4, NZQA exams are well underway and our Year 9 & 10 students are enjoying a bit more space.

As you are aware, nominations were called for the position of Student Representative on the Board of Trustees for 2023/2024.

The Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora Senior A basketball team travelled down to Dunedin to compete at South Islands’ last week, 30 August – 2 September.

On the 28th and 29th August Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora had four players contesting the Senior Champs at Badminton Hall for the Winter Sports Tournament Week

The Senior A Netball team departed Christchurch via van at 8am on Sunday, 27 August and arrived in Invercargill after a lengthy 8-hour journey.

During Week 7 of Term 3, from Monday 28th August to Thursday 31st August, two Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora teams competed at the South Island Secondary Schools’ Equestrian Championships event, held at the Dunstan Fiber Fresh National Equestrian Centre, McLeans Island.

Last week Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora had three students participating in the South Island Secondary Schools' Ice Hockey Championships in Dunedin.

The past two terms have been an incredible journey as I participated in the Aotearoa New Zealand Spelling Bee. Here's a recap of the exhilarating experience:

A small number of Year 9, 10, 11 and 12 students from Christchurch Girls' High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora participated in the Australian Mathematics Competition this year, and they all achieved impressive results.

Christchurch Girls’ High School / Te Kura o Hine Waiora has been an active member of Predator Free Riccarton since the end of Term 2.
