Kia ora koutou. As we close in on the end of Term 2, it is worth keeping in mind that for senior students (Years 11 to 13), we are now over half way through the academic year. This is because of the shorter Term 4 which allows external examinations to occur. For junior students, the halfway point is at the end of this term - which is not far away either.

We are starting a Martial Arts Class next Term starting on the first Tuesday of Term Three. Cost will be $10.00 for the Term. Classes will be held at 3.30 pm in Topaki.

The Performing Arts spaces are bustling with rehearsals for dance groups,instrumentalists, theatre sports, preparations for cultural events and with itinerant music lessons.

At the end of August, the Hornby High School football and basketball teams will be going to their respective regional tournaments.

Our Year 9 Business Studies class has been working on the unit "With Effort Comes Reward" this semester.

What an outstanding event ⭐ Thank you so much to all the amazing organisations who attended our Stars-opoly event at Hornby High School!

On Wednesday the 21st of June the students in Miss Potter's Hurumanu class visited Willowbank Wildlife Reserve.

Our crew of students were keen to go - everyone was on time and ready to board the bus on a very cold early morning!

On Friday the 16th of June, the ‘New Zealand Schools Japanese Trivia Competition was held for Year 7-10 students of Japanese in Christchurch at Cashmere High School

Due to significant roll growth, Hornby High School is not able to accept out-of-zone enrolments for the remainder of 2023 and for next year’s 2024 school.
