Michael Davidson - February 21, 2025
Kia ora koutou,
I am excited to introduce myself (Vicky Taggart) as the Head of Sport for 2025 at Te Kura o te Mātāpuna Isleworth School. I look forward to working closely with students, staff, whānau and our wider community to create an environment where every student can thrive in their learning journey.
Here at Te Kura o te Mātāpuna Isleworth School, we are committed to creating a dynamic and inclusive school-wide positive culture around health, wellbeing, sport and physical education that supports the development of every student. Through our comprehensive Health and Physical Education (HPE) program, we aim to foster mental and physical well-being, movement skills in a range of contexts, develop knowledge of themselves and others, social skills and positive attitudes and values. While also learning about movement by examining scientific aspects of and learning the social and cultural significance of movement for individuals, groups and communities.
We strongly believe in the power of relationships. We work closely with local clubs, regional sporting organizations (RSOs), and other external partners to provide our students with greater opportunities to participate in and excel at physical activity and sports. These collaborations help create pathways for student development and open doors to further sporting opportunities.
