In Term 4 of last year a group of junior students undertook a mural art project that reflected the school's values of Manaakitanga (putting others before yourself), Ako (learning together), Rangatiratanga (managing oneself and showing leadership), and Kotahitanga (working together).

We welcome four new staff.

Big smiles, laughter and banter complemented the energy, enthusiasm, new uniforms and the few nerves that our new Year 7 cohort brought as they were welcomed into the school by their Year 13 Peer Support Leaders.

Jopie Heuseveldt, who turned 90 over the weekend, has been a fan of Katikati College for decades.

2020 bought many challenges for our community and so came some hard work and determination from our students. At the end of last year once school had come to a close, a selection of our most talented Year 11 and 12 painting students had their final portfolio boards displayed in the Tauranga Gallery’s "2020 Visual Arts Folio Exhibition".

We thank ex-teacher Bruce Nicholls for his kind donation of 25 copies of his book, "Poems by Bruce and Others".

Project Generate is a charitable trust and is looking for an 8 hours per week Service Coordinator to support the delivery of their services and to handle social media sites and the website for their organization based in Katikati.

Some exciting learning is going on already in the Food Technology and Hospitality room.

This is an opportunity for any student or staff member to come and sew on Tuesdays after school until 5.00 p.m. in the Fabric room. (T5).

The first school event for 2021 saw Katikati College send four pairs to the NZSS Beach Volleyball Champs on February 6 and 7.

Year 9 OED is a new course where students are able to challenge themselves and build a future pathway into Senior OED at Katikati College.

Northfuels is a continuous supporter of our College through the Fuel for Schools programme.

Disc golf is a flying disc sport in which players throw a disc (‘frisbee’) at a target.
