As you will see in a separate article, our Associate Principal, Ms Shelley Power has won the Principal’s position at Wairarapa College. Shelley has been an outstanding member of staff for the last 16 years and we will miss her greatly as she begins her new adventure in Masterton. Trinity Nikora, Hannah Smith, Morgan Brass, Grace Millen, Ashvir Kahlon, Lana Parker-Hay and Dana Salmon completed the Summer Reading Challenge and have received their ARC Reading Rewards. These 7 students managed to read 143 books between them. Well done!

The Library has been running activities during Friday lunchtimes for several years now and we are looking to extend ourselves.   In Term 3 we will be running a Cardboard Challenge!

This year's Rhapsody Festival was held from 28th June - 1st July in Rotorua. The College entered three groups for adjudication. 

Tauranga Girls' College Library | Tuesday 16 August | 6:30 - 7:30pm

After 2 weeks of washed out turfs and no games, the 1st XI Hockey Boys had their first match in the Midlands Hockey League. It is quite an accomplishment to make the top tier of Waikato/BOP hockey and this strong group of players took to their first game against Aquinas with relish. Katikati College held on for a 3-2 win.   Well done boys!

The top Baywide Cross Country race was held at Woodlands School in Opotiki on Tuesday 28th June.

The Hamilton Boys High School Shoot was held on Friday 8th July at the Waikato  Gun Club. Katikati College sent a good sized team with 6 shooters including their first female team member Courtney Amrein who is making a good start to the sport.

Congratulations to Jed (who was our Head Boy last year) who has received his UC Emerging Leaders' Scholarship from The University of Canterbury.  Well done Jed!

This year Lip Sync was held on Wednesday 6th July. With 12 acts and lots of crowd involvement on the night, this was one of Katikati's most successful Lip Sync Competitions. 

The North Shore Junior Orchestra & Children's Choir will be performing at St Paul's Presbyterian Church on Friday 5th August at 6pm | FREE Entry

Callum left Katikati College in 2011 and is now completing his final year of completing his Science degree.  He is also an IT Consultant, Army Reservist and has been instrumental in setting up 'The Hub' - a game changing social network for the NZDF.

Congratulations to Netta who has completed the 'one-semester pre-vet course' at Massey University in Palmerston North.
