Our Jazz Bands competed at the JazzQuest competition in Christchurch in early August and returned home with 6 awards.

We enjoyed showcasing our school during our Open Days at the end of July.

After hours of melting and stamping wax, spray painting branches, debating gender issues, discussing the merits of tulle, and wondering where to get the perfect cropped top, the Logan Park Senior Formal was held on Saturday the 8th of July at the Savoy’s Tudor Room.

Alfred Cathro Yr 13 was selected for a 10 day sailing Voyage.

Our whole school took part in one of the world's largest science classes, held at Forsyth Barr Stadium at the end of Term 2.

Jimmy Robinson and Luke Major returned at the end of July from their trip to the Globe Theatre with the New Zealand Young Shakespeare Company.

All of our Winter Sports are going well.

Congratulations to Annie Kennedy-Atchison and Hugh Gibson who represented Otago in the National Spelling Bee final in Auckland.

Logan Park hosted the NumberWorks'nWords Senior O'MAthalon in August. The event was run along the lines of a pub quiz complete with double-up rounds, a ponderous puzzle and a list.

Congratulations to Sophie Gilmore who graduated from Logan Park in 2010 and has been awarded a 5 year full scholarship to complete a PhD in Film and Visual Studies at Harvard University.

Year 10 student Ennis Massey, a talented computer programmer is enjoying the real world experience of working on the coding and programming of a new Maori Translation App.

Year 10 Drama classes presented their Shakespeare scenes in Manawa Toi Whaakari for their families and friends. 

We welcomed 15 new International students at the start of Term 3.

On Friday the 1st of July a group of Year 13 students and teachers set off down to Tautuku for a weekend of fantastic experiences, memories and challenges both physically and mentally. 

At the end of Term 2 we farewelled a number of our wonderful international students.

Ashley King, Year 12 was  selected  for a future focused festival in Auckland in September. 

During the first week of the July school holidays a group of 7 LPHS science students were invited to the Women in Science breakfast as part of the Otago University Science Festival. 

We ended Term 2 with an awesome Karaoke Week. 

Year13 Biology classes all went to the Marine Laboratory at Portobello for a day designed to deepen their understanding of evolutionary processes in the local marine environment. 

Congratulations to Kahu Iti (Yr 13) and former student Harrison Kennedy who won the Best Technical Production Award at the New Zealand Theatre Federation One Act Play Festival in July. 

The boy’s badminton team narrowly lost the Premier Division 1 semi-final against Kavanagh College at the end of Term Two. 

13 students and their teachers from Wakamatsu Japan visited us at the start of Term 3.
