NorthWest Zone Touch

Our Year 5/6 students competed in the NW Zones touch tournament

On Tuesday, the 25th March a selection of Year 5/6 students competed in the NorthWest Zone touch tournament. We were lucky to have a number of students wanting to compete and were able to form 3 teams. The students, along with the wonderful parent helpers travelled to Nunweek Park for the day. The sun was out and the attitudes were even brighter.

This tournament gives our students who do not normally play touch an opportunity to give it a go. We hope to see many of these students back in Term 4 for the touch season.

Principal's message

Friday was a 'big' day as we farewelled Gavin.

All day he was mobbed by his adoring fans, Bob the Builder music played across the school at breaks and there were many mini- Gavins onsite.

We had a great assembly with many students celebrated and some farewell antics for Gavin. Best wishes to Gavin, Jacky and Maddie for their new adventure on the Gold Coast.

Our Year 5-8 students have been swimming this week and continue next week. Please remember that swimming is part of the NZC (NZ Curriculum), and as such, it is important that our students participate.

There are some necessary staffing changes for term two.

Rachael Green is moving to Wellington, to be nearer family. We wish Rachael all the very best and acknowledge the excellent teacher we lose.

Brodie Ridler is moving to Year 7&8 (Wheriko), to teach Rachael's class for the remainder of the year.

Pip Browne and Lydia Crocker will be teaching in Auahiroa (the Year 5&6 space), working with the classes for our structured morning sessions.

As the holidays approach, we know we have some tired bunnies. We hope you are able to have a relaxing time over the easter break.

Kind regards

Lisa
